Participant Waiver

The declaration and release every participant accepts at registration.

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Every person who registers for the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon (“the Event”), scheduled for November 29, 2026 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, accepts the waiver below. It is reproduced here so that you can read it in full before you register.

This is a legally binding release. By accepting it you give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue the Organiser and its partners for ordinary negligence in connection with your participation. Read it carefully. If you are registering someone under 18 years of age, you accept it on their behalf as their parent or legal guardian.

1. Declaration of Fitness

I declare that:

  • I am medically fit and have trained sufficiently to attempt the distance I have entered.
  • I have no known heart condition, respiratory condition, blood-pressure disorder or other medical condition that makes it unsafe for me to run, or, if I have such a condition, I have disclosed it and obtained written clearance from a registered medical practitioner to participate.
  • I am not participating under the influence of alcohol, or of any medication or substance that impairs my ability to complete the distance safely.
  • The information I have given at registration — including my name, date of birth, gender, blood group and emergency contact — is true and complete.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in a mass-participation road running event carries risks that cannot be eliminated, including but not limited to: cardiac arrest and other cardiac events; heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration and hyponatremia; sprains, strains, fractures and other musculoskeletal injury; collision with other participants, vehicles, barricades or spectators; the condition of the road surface; exposure to traffic, weather, air quality, dust and noise; and, in rare cases, permanent disability or death.

I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and accept full responsibility for my participation.

3. Release and Indemnity

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and legal representatives, release, waive and discharge the Organiser, Anybody Can Run (ABCR), the title sponsor, all other sponsors and partners, the timing partner, the venue owners, the medical and emergency service providers, the police, municipal and government authorities granting permissions, and all of their respective officers, employees, contractors, agents and volunteers (together, “the Released Parties”), from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs and causes of action arising out of or in connection with my participation in the Event — including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties against any claim brought by a third party arising from my own act, omission or breach of the Entry Rules.

This release does not extend to liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

4. Consent to Medical Treatment

I authorise the Organiser and its appointed medical personnel to provide me with first aid and emergency medical treatment, and to transport me to a hospital, if I am injured or incapacitated and unable to give consent at the time. I understand that:

  • such treatment is given in good faith and in an emergency setting;
  • the cost of hospitalisation, investigation and treatment beyond on-course first aid is my own responsibility, subject to any insurance arranged for participants;
  • the Race Director or medical team may withdraw me from the race at any point if they consider it unsafe for me to continue, and that their decision is final.

5. Rules and Disqualification

I have read and agree to abide by the Entry Rules and Regulations and the Terms & Conditions. I accept that a breach may result in my disqualification, removal from the course, forfeiture of any prize, and a ban from future editions, without refund.

6. Bib Number and Non-Transfer

I understand that my bib number and timing chip are issued to me personally, and that allowing another person to run on my bib is prohibited. I accept that doing so endangers that person — because our medical and emergency-contact records would be wrong — and will result in disqualification of both of us.

7. Image and Media Release

I grant the Organiser and its authorised partners the perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right to use my name, image, likeness, voice, bib number, city and race result, as captured at or in connection with the Event, for reporting, broadcast, archival and promotional purposes in any medium, without further approval or compensation.

8. Data

I consent to the Organiser collecting and processing my personal data, including my blood group and emergency-contact details, as described in the Privacy Policy, and to my name, category, age group, city and finish time being published in start lists and results.

9. Fees

I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable except as set out in the Cancellation & Refund Policy, and that this applies even if I am unable to start or finish for any reason, including injury or illness.

10. Participants Under 18 Years

Where the participant is below 18 years of age as on race day, the parent or legal guardian registering them confirms that they have read this waiver, accept it on the minor's behalf and on their own behalf, warrant that the minor is fit to participate, and agree to supervise or arrange supervision for the minor at the venue. Minimum ages are Half Marathon — 18 years; Cool Run — 15 years; Dream Run — 12 years.

11. Acknowledgement

I confirm that I have read this waiver in full, that I understand it, that I am accepting it freely and voluntarily, and that no oral representation or inducement has been made to me apart from what is written here.
